Where to go in April |
Many countries have a pleasant climate (mild temperatures, low rainfall or dry weather) in April. Some countries are to be avoided due to unfavorable weather conditions (high or low temperatures, heavy rainfall or cyclones which often cause heavy damage).
| Africa |
|
The dry season begins in some countries and rainfall weakens in most other countries of southern Africa. Rainfall is abundant in the Central African countries in April. African countries located north of the equator have a dry climate with high temperatures on the coasts and very high far away from the sea except along of the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean (Algeria, Morocco, Madeira, Canaries) where they are mild. Temperatures are high in the Sahara desert. The rainy season begins on the coasts of some West African countries.
| America |
|
The climate warms up in the North American countries in April (temperatures are higher in the southeast of the United States and Mexico than in the rest of the United States and Canada). Temperatures are high in Central American countries (they are lower in the mountains). Several South American countries (Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay, Suriname, Ecuador) have a rainy climate in April (rainfall is rare on the Pacific and Caribbean coasts). The climate is dry on the Caribbean islands where temperatures range between 27 and 30° during the daytime (they lose a few degrees at night).
| Asia |
|
Temperatures range from 15 to 20° and rainfall is moderate in the countries located in Central Asia in April. Temperatures are mild in the countries of Northeastern Asia (North Korea, South Korea, Mongolia, Japan, China). Temperatures are higher in the countries located further south. Rainfall is low (dry season) in most countries of southeaster Asia. Temperatures progressively reach 30° in most Middle East countries (Saudi Arabia, Iraq, southern Iran) except in Turkey, Lebanon and Syria where they are mild.
| Europe |
|
The climate is cool in the countries of Eastern Europe in April (temperatures reach 15° and rainfall is low). Temperatures are lower in northern Europe (5 to 10° in Finland, Sweden, Norway and Baltic countries). The climate is cool (13°) in the countries situated in the west of Europe (Germany, Belgium, British Isles, Ireland, France, The Netherlands). Temperatures range between 16 and 18° in most southern European countries. Rainfall is higher in western and southern Europe than in the countries located in the north and in the east of the European continent.
