Where to go in October |
Many countries have a pleasant climate (mild temperatures, low rainfall or dry weather) in October. Some countries are to be avoided due to unfavorable weather conditions (high or low temperatures, heavy rainfall or cyclones which often cause heavy damage).

Temperatures are mild (25°) and the rains are very rare in October on the Indian Ocean islands (Mauritius, Madagascar, Reunion) and in the countries located in the south of Africa (Botswana, South Africa, Mozambique, Angola, Namibia). Rainfall is high in the countries close to the Equator (Gabon, Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda, Rwanda). The countries located further north (Chad, Sudan, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Tanzania) have a dry climate. Temperatures are mild (25 to 30°) on the coasts of the North African countries (Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, Egypt) and on the Atlantic Ocean islands (Canaries Islands and Madeira). The rainy season ends on the coasts and the dry season begins far away from the sea in the West African countries.
