Climate

 
Brazil has five different climatic zones.

Temperatures are hgh throughout the year ((30° in the north, 25° to 30° on the east coast, 23 to 30° in the center, 20 to 30° in the south). Annual rainfall oscillates between 1 000 and 1 500 mm (the rains reach 2 000 mm in the north and only 600 mm in the northeast).

The central plateau
The plateau located in the center ofl Brazil has a tropical climate with a rainy season and a dry season, Rainfall varies between 1 000 and 1 500 mm per year (600 mm per year in the northeast).

Rainy season (October to April)
Ttemperatures are relatively high (26 to 30°) and rainfall is high (rains are often torrential). Humidity is high.

Dry season (May to September)
Temperatures range between 23 and 25°. Rainfall is very low or nonexistent and sunshine is high.

Northern Brazil (Amazon)
The north has an equatorial climate. Temperatures are constant (31° during the daytime, 23° at night) and rainfall is abundant throughout the year (2 000 mm per year). Hhumidity reaches 100%.

Northeastern coast of Brazil (Recife)
The northeast coast has a tropical climate with a rainy season and a dry season. Rainfall is high (1 500 mm per year).

Rainy season (March to August)
Temperatures are relatively high (27 to 29°) and rainfall is high (rains are short but frequent). Sunshine is moderate (five to six hours a day).

Dry season (September to February) Temperatures are high (30°) and rainfall is moderate. The sun shines six to seven hours a day.

Eastern coast of Brazil (Rio de Janeiro)
The east coast has a tropical climate with a rainy season and a dry season. Rainfall is high (1 000 to 1 500 mm per year).

Rainy season (November to April)
Temperatures reach 28°, rainfall is abundant and sunshine is moderate (five to six hours a day).

Dry season (May to October)
Temperatures are mild (23°) and rainfall is low. Sunshine is moderate (six to seven hours a day).

Southern Brazil (Porto Alegre)
The south has a temperate climate with four seasons. Rain falls regularly throughout the year.

Winter (June to August)
Temperatures range from 10° (far away from the sea) to 20° (on the coast) and rainfall is high.

Spring (September to November)
Temperatures reach 25° and rainfall are moderate.

Summer (December to February)
Temperatures are high (30°) and rainfall is moderate in summer.

Autumn (March to May)
Temperatures are mild and rainfall is moderate in autumn.
