Climate

 
Burma has a tropical climate with a rainy season and a dry season.

Temperatures vary from 30 to 38° throughout the year (they are lower in the mountains). The annual rains are higher in the southwest and the southeast (5000 mm) than in the mountains (2 000 to 4 500 mm), in the south (2500 mm) and in the center (800 to 1000 mm). Cyclones sometimes reach the west coast.

Rainy season (May to October)
Temperatures range between 30 and 36° (they are milder in the mountains and on the plateaus located in the north, in the west and in the east). Rainfall is abundant and humidity is very high. Sunshine is low (three to four hours a day).

Dry season (November to April)
Temperatures reach 30° in January and 36° in April (they are lower in the mountains). Rainfall is very low or nonexistent. Sunshine is high (seven to ten hours per day).
