The three islands of the Comoros have a tropical climate with a rainy season and a dry season.
Temperatures vary little throughout the year (24 to 28°) and rainfall is abundant (2 000 mm per year on average). Sunshine is very high (2 600 hours per year).
Rainy season (November to April)
Rainfall (monsoon) is particularly abundant between December and March (January is the wettest month). The rains are more intense on the northeast coasts and in the mountains. The average temperature is 28° in December, Janaury, February and March. Cyclones sometimes cause significant damage when they reach the coasts of the three islands.
Dry season (May to October)
Temperatures are stable (24°) and rainfall is moderate.
