Sierra Leone has a tropical climate with a rainy season and a dry season).
Temperatures are stable throughout the year (30°) in the coastal plain (west) and range from 28° in July to 35° in March on the plateau located in the east of the country. The rains are heavier in the west (3 500 mm per year) than in the east (2 000 mm per year). Humidity is constantly high (80%) except when a dusty wind dries the atmosphere when it blows between November and April.
Rainy season (May to October)
Temperatures range between 28 and 30° (they lose 5° in the west and 10° In the east at night). Rainfall is abundant and humidity reaches 80% (90% in July and in August). The sun shines two to three hours a day in the west and a little more in the east.
Dry season (November to April)
Temperatures reach 31° in the west and 35° in the east (they lose 5° in the west and 15° in the east at night). Sunshine ranges from eight to nine hours a day in the east (slightly less in the west). A dusty wind regularly dries the atmosphere.
