Climate

 
Tanzania has two different climatic zones.

Temperatures are stable on the coast (30°) and range between 25 and 30° throughout the year on the plateau. Rainfall is abundant on the coast (1 000 mm per year) and moderate on the plateau (500 mm per year). Humidity is higher on the coast than on the plateau. Sunhine is high (seven to ten hours per day) except during the rainy season.

The coast (east of Tanzania)
The coast located in the east has a hot and humid climate throughout the year with two rainy seasons and two dry seasons.

First rainy season (March to May) and second rainy season (November to December)
Temperatures are high during the daytime (30°) and then they lose 5 to 8° at night. The rains are abundant (they are heavier during the first rainy season than during the second rainy season). Humidity is very high.

First dry season (June to October) and second dry season (January to February)
Temperatures are stable (28 to 30°), the rains are sporadic and the sky is clear most of the time.

The central plateau
The plateau located in the center of Tanzania has a climate with a rainy season and a dry season.

Rainy season (November to April)
Temperatures range between 25 and 30° (they are softer in the mountains). Rainfall is moderate (500 mm) except in the mountains (1 500 mm).

Dry season (May to October)
Temperatures range between 20 and 26° (they are cooler at night). Rainfall is nonexistent and sunshine is very high
