Tonga has a tropical climate with a rainy season and a dry season.
Temperatures range between 30° in January and 26° in July. Rainfall is higher on the northern islands (2 500 mm per year) than on the southern islands of the archipelago (1 700 mm per year). Sunshine is moderate (six to eight hours per day) and humidity reaches 75% on average.
Rainy season (November to April)
Temperatures are stable (30°) and rainfall (heavy showers in the afternoon) is abundant. Cyclones sometimes pass through the islands between December and March.
Dry season (May to October)
Temperatures are constant (26°) and rainfall is high.
