Laos has a tropical climate with a rainy season and a dry season.
Temperatures are higher in the south (30° in January, 35° in April) than in the north (25° in January and 30° in April). They are milder in the mountains. Annual rainfall varies from 1 300 mm in the north to 2000 mm in the south (3 000 to 4 000 mm in the mountains). They are very irregular from one year to another.
Rainy season (May to October)
Temperatures are high (28 to 30°) and rainfall is abundant. Humidity is very high.
Dry season (November to April)
Temperatures drop until January (25° in the north, 30° in the south) and then rise to April (30° in the north, 35° in the south). Rainfall is very low or nonexistent. Humidity is moderate and sunshine is high.
