Mali has a tropical climate with a rainy season and a dry season.
Temperatures range between 30 and 40° (sometimes more in the north) throughout the year. Annual rainfall is high in the south (600 to 1 200 mm), moderate in the center (200 to 500 mm) and very low in the north (less than 200 mm). Sunshine is very high in Mali throughout the year.
 Southern Mali
The south has a climate with a rainy season and a dry season.
Rainy season (May to October)
Temperatures are high during the daytime (32°) and mild at night (22°). Rainfall is high.
Dry season (November to April)
Temperatures range between 33° and 40° during the daytime (they reach 20° at night). Rainfall is nonexistent.
Central Mali
The center has a climate with a short rainy season and a long dry season.
Rainy season (July to September)
Temperatures are very high during the daytime (36 to 38°) and mild at night (25°). Rainfall is moderate.
Dry season (October to June)
Temperatures reach 40° during the daytime and 20° at night (they drop to 13° at night in December, January and February).
Northern Mali
The north has an arid climate. Temperatures range from 25-30° (January, February, March) to 50° (July, August, September) during the daytime (they drop to 4-5° at night). Rainfall is very low or nonexistent in some years.
