The Cape Verde Islands have a tropical climate with a short rainy season and a long dry season.
Temperatures range between 21 and 29° during the year (they lose about five degrees at night). The rains are low on the seaside and moderate in the mountains (they are very irregular from one year to another). The sun shines more than three hundred days a year (sunshine ranges from seven to ten hours per day). Sea temperature varies between 22 and 27° during the year.
Rainy season (August to October)
Temperatures are stable (29°) and humidity is high. The rains are higher in the mountains than on the seaside (they cause serious damage when they violently fall).
Dry season (November to July)
Temperatures reach 22° during the daytime (they are sometimes cool at night especially in the mountains). Sunshine is very high on all islands.
