Djibouti has an arid climate with a very hot season and a milder season.
Temperatures vary between 30° in January and 40 to 45° in July (they are milder in the mountains). Rainfall is very low (150 mm per year on the coast and 350 mm per year in the mountains). Sunshine is high all year round (eight to nine hours a day).
Hot season (May to September)
Temperatures range between 35 and 40° (45° sometimes). Humidity is very high.
Mild season (October to April)
Temperatures do not exceed 30° during the daytime (they lose about 10° at night). The rains, often torrential, are higher in the mountains (350 mm) than on the coast (150 mm). Humidity is low.
