Climate and weather conditions of Faroe Islands month by month
The Faroe Islands have an oceanic climate with four seasons.
Temperatures range between 5° in January and 13° in July. The rains fall regularly throughout the year (they reach 1 400 mm per year). Violent winds frequently pass through the archipelago. The islands are often covered in mist and the sky is cloudy most of the time (sunshine does not exceed 840 hours per year).
Winter (December to February)
Temperatures are constant (5° during the daytime, 1° at night) and rainfall is abundant.
Spring (March to May)
Temperatures rise slightly (6° in March, 7° in April, 9° in May) and rainfall is high.
Summer (June to August)
Temperatures are stable (12°) and rainfall is moderate. The sun shines four hours a day.
Autumn (September to November)
Temperatures slowly drop (11° in September, 9° in October, 7° in November) and rainfall is abundant.
