Haiti has a tropical climate with a rainy season and a dry season.
Temperatures range from 28 to 32° throughout the year on the coasts (they are lower in the mountains). Rainfall is high in the central mountains (the valleys are usually dry), on the north coast and on the south coast (1 000 to 1 500 mm per year). The rains are lower in the west of the country (500 mm per year) Cyclones sometimes reach the coasts in June to August, September and October.
Rainy season (April to October)
Temperatures are stable (32°) and rainfall is high. Humidity is also high.
Dry season (November to March)
Temperatures are high (28 to 30°) except when cold winds reach the northern coast of Haiti in December to February and March. Rainfall is low.
