Climate

 
Lithuania has a temperate continental climate with four seasons.

Temperatures range from -3° in January to 21° in July. The rains are higher in the west (750 mm per year) than in the east (650 mm per year).

Winter (November to March)
Temperatures drop from November (4°) to January (-3°) and then rise until March (3°). They are sometimes very low (-30°) when cold winds blow. Rainfall is low but snow falls often.

Spring (April to May)
Temperatures rise rapidly (10° in April, 17° in May) and rainfall is low.

Summer (June to August)
Temperatures reach 21° during the daytime (they sometimes rise to 30° away from the sea), but the nights are cool (11°). Rainfall is high.

Autumn (September to October)
Temperatures drop (16° in September, 10° in October) and rainfall is moderate.
