Climate

 
Martinique has a tropical climate with a rainy season and a dry season.

Temperatures range 28 and 30° all year round (they are lower in the mountains located in the north of the island). Annual rainfall is higher in the mountains (2 000 to 5 000 mm) than on the east coast (1 500 mm) and on the west coast (1 000 to 1 200 mm). Sunshine is very high and sea temperature varies little throughout the year (26° in January and 28° in July). Cyclones sometimes reach the coasts of Martinique in August, September and October.

Rainy season (May to November)
Temperatures reach 30° and humidity is very high. The rains are often brief and intense (they usually fall in the afternoon).

Dry season (December to April)
Temperatures are high (28°) and rainfall is low. Sunshine is very high.
