Climate

 
Somalia has a very dry equatorial climate with two rainy seasons and two dry seasons.

Temperatures are stable on the south coast (29°) while they range between 27 and 37° on the north coast throughout the year (the gap is smaller in the mountains located in the north of the country). Rains, often torrential, are moderate (500 mm per year) except on the north coast where they are low (150 mm per year). They vary greatly from one year to another. Sunshine is very high throughout the year (eight to ten hours a day) except on the south coast during the rainy seasons. Sea temperature is cooler on the south coast than on the north coast due a cold ocean current.

Southern Somalia
The south has a dry climate with two rainy seasons and two dry seasons. Humidity is high (70%).

First rainy season (April to June) and second rainy season (October ā November)
Temperatures are constant (30°) and rainfall is moderate. Sunshine is high except when it rains.

First dry season (December to March) and secon dry season (July to September)
Temperatures are stable (27 to 29°) and rainfall is very low. Sunshine is very high.

Northern Somalia
The north has a very dry climate with two rainy seasons and two dry seasons. Humidity is low (40%) and sunshine is very high (eight to ten hours a day all year round).

First rainy season (April to June) and second rainy season (October to November)
Temperatures are constant (30°) and rainfall is low.

First dry season (December to March) and second dry season (July to September)
Temperatures are stable in the mountains (30°) and range from 27° in January to 37° in July on the northern coast. .
