Sudan has a tropical climate with a short rainy season and a long dry season.
Temperatures vary between 30 and 40° during the year. The rains are higher in the south (300 to 600 mm per year) than in the center and in the north of the country (150 mm per year). Sunshine is very high (nine to ten hours per day) throughout the year except in the south during the rainy season.
 Southern Sudan
The south has a climate with a dry season and rainy season.
Rainy season (June to September)
Temperatures range between 30 and 35° during the daytime (they lose 10° at night). Rainfall is moderate (300 to 600 mm) but humidity is high.
Dry season (October to May)
Temperatures are very high (30 to 40°). March, April and May are the hottest months. Sunshine is very high (nine to ten hours per day) and rainfall is nonexistent.
Central and northern Sudan
The center and the north have a warm and dry climate with a rainy season and a dry season.
Rainy season (June to September)
Temperatures are very high (35°) and rainfall is very low (150 mm).
Dry season (October to May)
Temperatures range from 30° to 40° in April and May (they lose between 15 and 20° at night). Rainfall is nonexistent except on the coast in November and December. Sunshine is very high (nine to ten hours per day).
