East Timor has two different climatic zones.
Temperatures range from 29 in July to 32° in January (they are milder in the central mountains). Rainfall is heavy on the coasts and in the mountains (1 500 mm per year).
The northern coast of East Timor
The north coast has a tropical climate with a short rainy season and a long dry season.
Rainy season (December to March)
Temperatures are stable (31 to 32°) and rainfall is high.
Dry season (April to November)
Temperatures are high (29 to 30°) and rainfall is very low.
The southern coast of East Timor
The south coast has a tropical climate with a long rainy season and a short dry season.
Rainy season (December to June)
Temperatures are constant (32°) and rainfall is high.
Dry season (July to November)
Temperatures reach 30° and rainfall is very low.
