Climate

 
Togo has two different climatic zones.

Temperatures are high all year round (28 to 34° in the south and 30 to 35° in the north). Annual rainfall reaches 900 mm on the coast (south), 1 800 mm in the central mountains and 1 100 mm in the north.

Southern Togo
The south has an subequatorial climate with two rainy seasons and two dry seasons.

First rainy season (April to June) and second rainy season (September to October)
Temperatures reach 30° and rainfall are high.

First dry season (July to August) and second dry season (November to March)
The temperatures are higher in January, February and March (33°) than in July and August (28°). Rainfall is low.

Northern Togo
The north of Togo has a tropical climate with a rainy season and a dry season.

Rainy season (April to October)
Temperatures reach 30° during the daytime and then lose about 10° at night. Rainfall is high especially between June and September.

Dry season (November to March)
Temperatures are high (33 to 35°) and rainfall is nonexistent. Humidity is relatively low especially when a dry and dusty wind blows.
