Uganda has two different climatic zones.
Temperatures are stable throughout the year (26 to 30° during the daytime and 16 to 18° at night). The rains (mostly thunderstorms) are higher in the south (1 500 mm per year) than in the north (500 mm per year). Sunshine ranges from six to eight hours a day.
 Southern Uganda
The south has an equatorial climate with two short rainy seasons and two long dry seasons.
First rainy season (March to May) and second rainy season (October to November)
Temperatures are stable (27° during the daytime and 17° at night) and rainfall is abundant.
First dry season (June to September) and second dry season (December to February)
Temperatures are high during the daytime (26 and 29°) and cool at night (17°). Rainfall is low.
Northern Uganda
The north has a tropical climate with a rainy season and a dry season.
Rainy season (April to October)
Temperatures are stable (27° during the day and 16° at night). Rainfall is moderate.
Dry season (November to March)
Temperatures reach or slightly exceed 30° during the daytime (they are cool at night) and rainfall is low especially in December, January and February.
