Costa Rica has three different climatic zones.
Temperatures are stable throughout the year in the central mountains (15 to 25° depending on altitude) and range between 28 and 32° on the coasts. Rainfall is abundant (1 500 to 3 500 mm per year).
 The caribbean coast (east of Costa Rica)
The east coast has a hot and rainy climate all year round. Temperatures are constant (30°) and rainfall is high every month (200 to 400 mm).
The central mountains
The mountains located in the center of Costa Rica have a temperate tropical climate with a wet season and a dry season.
Rainy season (April to November)
Temperatures are constant (25° in the Central Valley and 15° in the mountains) and rainfall is abundant.
Dry season (December to March)
Temperatures are stable (23° in the Central Valley and 13° in the mountains) and rainfall is nonexistent.
The Pacific coast (west of Costa Rica)
The west coast has a tropical climate with a rainy season and a dry season.
Rainy season (April to November)
Ttemperatures are high (30 to 32°) and rainfall is abundant.
Dry season (December to March)
Temperatures is high (30°) and rainfall is nonexistent. Sunshine is high.
